Where Can I Find the Right Contacts?

The field of health care is a demanding one -- a work environment in which the ratio of hours in the day to things to accomplish has become impossibly imbalanced. When your goal is keeping up with day-to-day tasks, it's easy to lose sight of the force that drives your business: The rapidly evolving health care market. During times like these, however, you can get your work done and still keep up with trends and advances in the field if you have the right contacts.

The Georgia Society for Managed Care (GSMC), an affiliate society of GHA, was founded in 1995 to enhance and support networking and educational opportunities for managed care professionals statewide. Here is how we are doing just that:

• By promoting the roles and functions of managed care professionals.
• By arranging and hosting activities that allow members to sharpen their skills in management, communication and leadership.
• By representing managed care professionals in their dealings with GHA.

Three types of GSMC memberships are available:

PERSONAL MEMBER
For persons employed by a GHA Member, defined as hospitals and health systems.

PERSONAL AFFILIATE
For persons employed by GHA affiliate organizations in an area similar to the society's expertise.

PERSONAL ASSOCIATE
For persons employed by GHA associate firms and faculty members or graduate students pursuing health-related studies in an area similar to the society's expertise.
